Business blogging is enjoying somewhat of a popularity boom in 2015, with so many outlets and recommending content marketing and online content as a key way of improving lead generation opportunities and conversion rates.

Although, it was once seen as something that was a "nice-to-have", the merits of blogging are finally shining through and lots of you are willing to see how much time and effort you can put into it, so you can enjoy the long term benefits only blogging can offer.

Now that you're on-trend and looking at blogging, take a look at these very nice statistics we've found for you (you'll soon realise you can't afford not to blog!):

  • Marketers identified content marketing and social media engagement (each at 36%) among their top three digital marketing priorities for 2014. (B2B Marketing Insider)
  • The three most sought-after types of content by business buyers are comprehensive industry/category surveys and studies (52%); technical details about products and solutions (44%); and analyst reviews or recommendations (43%). (MediaPost)
  • Content plays a pivotal role in add-on buying decisions or supplemental purchases following an initial contract; 86% of B2B buyers frequently or sometimes use digital content to identify complementary or add-on products. (MediaPost)

1. Build trusting relationships and stronger connections

By offering useful and insightful content to your customer base you are helping them to build trust in your business. The more helpful information they can get from your blogs the more they will visit your website, which gives you an opportunity to connect with your customers by giving them more information that will help solve their problems or answer their questions.

2. Get more traffic and potential leads to your website

When someone reads a blog on your website they're more likely to visit other pages on your website, so from a single blog you are likely to generate more visits to the whole of your website than you could typically expect to generate from organic search.

3. Enjoy increased lead conversion opportunities

Helping your potential customers with their problems and pain points, through the creation of valuable content, will help convert a visitor into a lead. The more useful content there is available for your potential customers, on your blog, the more of your visitors will likely turn into leads.

4. Benefit from long term results, with less long-term effort

Wouldn't it be nice if we could post a blog one day and by the next it has been viewed hundreds of times?

Unfortunately, for us, it doesn't work that way. The views of a blog and all of the posts on that blog, increase over time. It is often months after a post is first viewed before a lot of views are racked up. However, remember that once that post is live, it is long term collateral, so as long as it's not time sensitive (related to a news story or event) it will continue to be read and shared!

Remember, that not everyone needs advice all the time and you have to give your potential customers time to reach out for advice, the best thing you can do is make sure you have the answers waiting for them in your blogs!

Now you know why blogging is too important to avoid so make sure you keep your business blog regularly updated with valuable content for your customers. If you still don't have the time why not get in touch with us?
