To put this into context in regards to its importance, Google's Webmaster Trends Analyst Zineb Ait Bahajji says that this algorithm update will be bigger than Penguin or Panda.

The initial roll out of Google’s Penguin algorithm update affected just 4% of global searches on desktop and mobile, later the Panda update impacted nearly 12% of English searches.

If this update is bigger still, we could see huge changes in Google rankings.

The update has been in the news for many months because we know it’s focusing on the mobile-friendliness of websites.

Be prepared by getting in touch with Thrive for a FREE Thriveability Index, which will rank your mobile readiness, amongst other common marketing topics, like your blogging and SEO capabilities.
