Be honest, how many of you have set up an Instagram account for your business but you're not quite sure what to do with it next?

Don't worry, you're not the only one... which is why we've got a step by step Q&A for you!

Improve your Instagram marketing strategy and social media implementation as a whole with this whistle stop guide to ensure you're using the right platforms, in the right way, for the right reasons.

With over 20 social media accounts, Thrive knows all about introducing the appropriate style of messaging and tone for Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn, but what about photography and image based accounts?

Here are some questions to ask yourself that will help you implement a more refined strategy that will boost your success, engagement and visibility rates.

1. What is your potential client doing right now?

Make sure you update your Instagram regularly and at the right time. If the answer is at home or on a lunch break that's the time to post!

2. Is the picture your about to post visually appealing?

Instagram is the place to post the pictures that are pleasing to the eye. Before you post something ask yourself whether your potential client would like what they are seeing.

3. Will the picture or video you post encourage people to engage with you?

Engaging with your potential clients is important. So try to post things where you could spark conversation, ask for their opinion.

4. Do you competitions give your potential clients something they would want?

There is no point holding a competition if your client base wouldn't be interested in winning the prize. Encourage them to get your name out there by asking them to post the competition picture on to their Instagram account.
