For those businesses that are implementing an inbound marketing strategy, we know that you have spent plenty of time developing your social media accounts.

So, if you are looking to use Facebook advertising to develop further and raise more awareness, here are some ways to do that, alongside your inbound methodology and overall strategy.

01. Behavioural Targeting

Now Facebook can look at your activity and make assumptions on what you are doing (scary), businesses can now target users based on what they are doing in the present day.

This form of targeting is particularly useful if you are looking to target users at a certain stage of the buyers journey. For example, if you were a car dealership and you wanted to promote a blog on '10 things to consider when buying a new car' you would want to be targeting people who are looking for a new car, not someone who bought a car a few months ago and will not be interested in buying another.

02. Interest Targeting

Businesses that are looking to target people who are already interested in one of your products or services should try out Facebook's interest targeting.

You are going to receive better results if you are promoting to people who have interests in your products or services.

For example, if you were a cosmetic shop with a new line of nail varnishes you would want to promote this to users interested in beauty products and nail art, as these users are more likely to be interested in particular your product.

03. Prospect Targeting

Businesses implementing an inbound marketing strategy will have a growing audience and database, why not reach these people through Facebook? Using Custom Audiences you can create a list of people who you want to see your advert.

You no longer need to hope that you are reaching people who are interested in your business, because you can create a list of the exact people you already know are interested and target them with adverts that will attract them.

So there you have it, now you can go and use Facebook Advertising the inbound way! Use the different forms of targeting that suit your goal for each different advert you create.
